Well, I was visiting Ebay yesterday on a trawl for vintage knitting patterns and, I stumbled across one of my own patterns for sale on the site. It was a design for a Gardeners Notebook Cover which I had created for Knit Today magazine about 2 years ago. Somebody had actually ripped the pattern out of the magazine and was selling it on ebay for 99p!
My husband said I should be angry but in actual fact it made me chuckle. I didn't know whether to be cross or flattered really.
Pattern writing today. Am using displacement tactics to avoid knuckling down to the old graph paper and calculator. It's not that I don't like grading patterns, it's just that the joy for me is in the conception and development of the original idea. Pattern writing to me, feels a bit like cleaning your oven after you've created a new and exciting recipe. Does that make sense? Probably not but I know what I mean.
Lily's well for a minute and at nursery for the morning so nice and quiet here for a change. The perfect time for catching up with work...like pattern grading. LOL!
